Heavy metal: Tiffany & Co’s rugged men’s jewellery is coming to Singapore

Inasmuch as the prevailing fashion is for all things gender-neutral, the vast bulk of consumers are likely to choose items that are gender-specific, given a choice.

With this in mind, Tiffany & Co'south principal artistic director Reed Krakoff deliberately cast the brand'southward latest collection of men's jewellery with masculine proportions and a textured finish, giving the pieces the impression of having been worn for years.

Speaking to street mode site Highsnobiety, Krakoff explained his rationale: "I call up that today most men accept favourite pieces of jewellery that they wear all the time, things that become an everyday staple, similar a signet ring, an ID bracelet or one of our Everyday Object pendants. I call back men are interested in things that are worn every day, not just on special occasions. At that place are many pieces that can be worn and so often, they really become part of your personality. They feel like you've had them for a long time and they only are an expression of who you are."

To brand the collection extra special, the American jeweller is teaming up with the pacesetting multi-brand boutique Dover Street Market (DSM) for the launch. Only five cities worldwide where DSM is nowadays are privy to the launch: Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo and Singapore. And the pieces will only be available for a express period – in Singapore, from November 29 to Jan 8, 2020.

Why DSM? In an interview with street style site Hybebeast, Krakoff said: "[DSM's] curated style edit, and the iconic collaborations it is known for, makes it the ideal space to debut these limited-release Tiffany Men's designs.

"It's a bully manner to arrive tune with the male person consumer who'due south really into fashion, way and lifestyle. And it's slap-up to be in places that are surprising because – and you take to back it up with something that's worth looking at – it must be something new."
